Vincents first Parent/Teacher conference

I attended my first ever parent/teacher conference with Vins teacher, Miss Tammy, the other day.

She started out by saying that he is a joy to have in class and despite the fact that she is not supposed to have favorites, he is one of hers.  Sweet.

She showed me his first play plan of the year and one from last week.  The difference in his 'penmenship' is amazing.  You can see that he has much more control over the marker.  Maybe he will end up with Nicks handwriting instead of mine.

She said that he loves to sing and read.  She can tell we read to him at home because its one of his favorite activities.  He loves to sing "5 little monkeys" and often requests they sing it during circle time.  He plays well with others and is sweet and polite.

His language is right on track and even a little ahead.  He has great gross motor skills and enjoys playing outside on the bikes and slides.

She says he has a great imagination.  One day a few boys got together and created a 'car' out of 4 chairs.  She snapped a picture of Vin 'driving' the car holding a round tray like a steering wheel.  The boy in the passenger seat was drinking coffee, wonder where he learned that?

All in all I am so glad we bit the bullet and put him in school two years before Kindergarten. He has learned soooooo much and I am glad to see him well on his way to getting into Harvard and being President of the US!
